NEWS, 2nd September, London, UK – SingularityNET, the decentralized AI platform, today announced that Joe Honan has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Singularity Compute, the ecosystem’s independent, for-profit operating company dedicated to delivering advanced, high-performance AI compute infrastructure and AGI-class solutions.

Joe is a seasoned technology executive with decades of success in founding, commercializing, and scaling high-growth technology ventures. Over his career, he has helped build startups into market-leading enterprises with more than $8 billion USD in exit value and has led some of the world’s largest and most complex technology transformation projects. He has held executive management positions for more than 25 years, with a focus on exponential technologies including AI, blockchain, high-performance compute, edge, and decentralized systems.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Honan was a trusted executive advisor to the Compute initiative, actively championing the creation of safe, secure, sovereign, and equitable decentralized compute infrastructure to power the next era of beneficial AI.

Singularity Compute plays a vital role in advancing SingularityNET and the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance’s mission of developing beneficial Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Under Joe’s leadership, the organization will accelerate its evolution into a thriving, revenue-generating engine that supports both AGI research and delivers market-leading compute solutions to the global market.

Dr. Ben Goertzel, CEO and Founder of SingularityNET, said: Joe Honan brings a rare blend of vision, technical depth, and proven execution to the leadership of Singularity Compute. His decades of experience building successful technology businesses, combined with his passion for equitable and decentralized infrastructure, make him the ideal person to guide our compute organization at this critical juncture. As AI rapidly approaches AGI, ensuring that the world has open, secure, and accessible compute resources is essential, and with Joe leading Singularity Compute, I’m confident we’ll deliver on that promise.”

Joe Honan, CEO of Singularity Compute, said: “We stand at the most important crossroads in human history. The rise of AI and its path toward AGI and eventually superintelligence will shape the future of civilization. What we do now will determine whether that future is beneficial, equitable, and just, or concentrated in the hands of a few. I believe it is our responsibility, and indeed the most important work of our time, to ensure that no one is left behind. By building secure, sovereign, and decentralized compute infrastructure, Singularity Compute is laying the foundation for a future where AGI serves all of humanity, not just a privileged few. I am honored to lead this mission and to work with the extraordinary SingularityNET community to make it real.”
