When we launched our RFP with $1.25M in grant funding across 14 critical challenge areas, we had a bold vision: to accelerate the development of AGI through our groundbreaking OpenCog Hyperon architecture, the innovative MeTTa programming language, and the SingularityNET platform. The response from the global developer and research community was remarkable.

We were humbled and inspired by the depth, creativity, and technical brilliance of the proposals we received. Developers and researchers from around the world came forward with innovative approaches to solving complex AGI development challenges. Each proposal represented not just a potential technological solution, but a glimpse into the collective human potential to shape the future of artificial intelligence. They are the result of a dedicated, collaborative, inclusive community dedicated to developing beneficial AGI.

By funding innovative proposals, we are expanding the adoption of the MeTTa programming language, enabling developers worldwide to harness its unique capabilities for cognitive computation.

The team has remained open to new, unusual, and disruptive ideas, so long as the proposals were thoughtfully constructed, thought through, and supported the RFP.

We have carefully evaluated every proposal not only within the context of the RFP text itself, but also within the larger context of AGI R&D and, in particular, with deep consideration of how we thought each proposal contributed to, or in some cases even expanded upon, our own PRIMUS roadmap toward Artificial General Intelligence.

Moreover, the diversity of participants brings unique, global perspectives to our mission, fostering an inclusive approach to solving complex AGI challenges, which has always been one of our core principles.

By connecting top talent from around the world with our leading research team, we are creating a collaborative ecosystem that drives progress toward achieving AGI and, ultimately, Artificial Superintelligence.

Selection Process Overview

The RFP evaluation process was designed to assess not just the technical strength or individual merit of each proposal, but also how well that proposal leverages SingularityNET’s technologies, its potential for integration, and its contribution to our broader AGI strategy.

Each proposal had a specialized nature, as the proposals were centered around AGI research and the SingularityNET technology stack. Because of this, we knew we had to rely on experts already deeply familiar with our technology and ecosystem.

Experts were assigned to RFPs based on their specific areas of expertise, but they also had the opportunity to review additional proposals. This resulted in some variation in the number of reviews per proposal.

After individual assessments were completed, all reviews were compiled and shared among the experts. Various specific teams of senior technologists, each composed of members with RFP-specific expertise, then conducted final reviews to determine the outcomes. In cases where we received multiple high-value proposals for the same RFP, final decisions were based on alignment with our technology stack, AGI roadmap, and the experience of the proposing team.

Once the evaluations were finalized, we uploaded the results to our portal and informed all proposal owners via email. Initially, proposal details and reviews were only visible to proposal owners and reviewers. And to make the process completely transparent, we are making all proposals and individual reviews publicly available.

Our hope is that this openness will guide future teams in crafting even stronger proposals.

RFP – Utilize LLMs for modeling within MOSES

RFP – Framework for evaluating approaches to attention allocation

RFP – AGI Related Hardware

RFP – Review of Quantum Computing Technologies

M. T. Bennett, project owner: “I am immensely grateful to the SingularityNet team for their support, both in terms of this generous grant and as part of their support of the wider AGI research community. As a PhD student it is very difficult to obtain funding, because grants are intended for faculty. Ambitious projects proposed by students are dismissed out of hand, and so many potentially valuable projects are overlooked. The Deep Funding system seems more targeted at the content of the proposal and the applicant’s ability to execute, rather than seniority. It is allowing me to pursue an ambitious and potentially very valuable line of inquiry I might not otherwise have any resources to pursue.”

Looking Forward

We are incredibly grateful for the global and diverse range of proposals received in this round, and we’re proud to be a part of this worldwide movement to develop beneficial, open, and forward-thinking AGI solutions.

We extend our deepest appreciation to the vibrant community of developers, researchers, and visionaries who make this journey possible. Your unwavering commitment, creativity, and passion are the true driving forces behind our collective mission. A mission that extends beyond technical innovation, cultivating a global community united by the belief that AI should be open, accessible to all, and fundamentally aligned with human values and potential.

Throughout this round of RFPs, we not only focused on advancing the Hyperon architecture but also on reinforcing the broader SingularityNET platform to support state-of-the-art AGI research.

We challenged the global community to explore critical development areas that would push the boundaries of our Hyperon architecture.

Our goal was not just to fund projects, but to catalyze a collaborative ecosystem of innovation—bringing together diverse perspectives, cutting-edge research, and transformative ideas.

By bridging advanced decentralized AI infrastructure with core AGI initiatives, we remain committed to an open, inclusive, and forward-thinking ecosystem—one that fosters collaboration, innovation, and alignment with human values at every step.

To every researcher, developer, and innovator who participated: your creativity, technical expertise, and commitment to advancing AGI have been truly inspiring. You’re helping to chart the course for one of the most significant technological endeavors in human history.

The journey toward beneficial artificial intelligence is a collective endeavor. And with each round, we move closer to realizing a vision of AI that is transparent, democratic, and fundamentally aligned with human values. Together, we are pioneering a future where innovation will know no limits, and the collective potential of human creativity will meet the transformative power of artificial intelligence.
