On September 11, 2024, the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance, a collective recently formed by SingularityNET, Fetch.ai, and Ocean Protocol, announced the inclusion of CUDOS, a leader in distributed AI computing, as the newest member of the Alliance, subject to community vote.
As part of this integration, the CUDOS token (CUDOS) would be merged into the ASI Alliance token (FET), unifying the networks under a single ecosystem. This development is pending approval by both communities with voting scheduled to commence on September 19, 2024, at 6 pm UTC and close on September 24, 2024, at 6 pm UTC.
In light of this announcement and as part of our shift toward a network-wide FET (ASI) token-based participatory governance, we will discontinue AGIX staking on both the Ethereum and Cardano networks to allow token holders who have contributed their tokens to staking to migrate and make their voices heard during this and future governance events.
Effectively, only FET (ASI) token holders on Mainnet, Ethereum, Cardano, and Binance Smart Chain will be eligible to vote on the Alliance’s CUDOS governance proposal. Therefore, AGIX stakers on both Ethereum and Cardano would need to migrate their tokens to ERC-20 FET and CNT-FET, respectively, before the eligibility snapshot on September 19, 2024, at 2:00 pm UTC to participate in the vote.
Here is what you need to know:
In order to support our long-standing community members who have been staking AGIX on the Ethereum network, and ensure they can cast their votes during this governance event, we will discontinue ERC-20 AGIX staking support.
This means that the current (54th) staking window, originally concluding September 28, 2024, will end prematurely on September 14, 2024. Upon closure, all ERC-20 AGIX tokens contributed to this staking window automatically return to their respective holders, along with any accrued rewards.
Once you receive your ERC-20 AGIX, you will need to convert your tokens to ERC-20 FET (ASI) using the SingularityDAO migration tool and hold them in a non-custodial wallet before the eligibility snapshot scheduled for September 19, 2024, at 2:00 pm UTC to be able to cast your vote.
Important Note: Only ERC-20 FET (ASI) tokens held in non-custodial wallets or contributed to liquidity pools are eligible for voting during the CUDOS governance event. Explore the ASI Alliance’s CUDOS Governance Proposal to learn more about the voting process.
As part of the Alliance’s post-merger integration and to support the shift toward a network-wide FET (ASI) token-based participatory governance, we will discontinue the Cardano Native Token (CNT) AGIX staking program.
Consequently, token holders who wish to participate in the CUDOS governance event must:
CNT-AGIX tokens not withdrawn during the User Phase will be locked for 3 days. The next opportunity to withdraw your tokens will only come after the Rewards Distribution phase ends on September 19, 2024, at 9:00 am UTC. This leaves an additional 5-hour window to unstake and convert your tokens before the governance vote eligibility snapshot at 2:00 pm UTC on the same day.
To unstake your CNT-AGIX tokens, navigate to the official SingularityNET staking portal, log into your account, and navigate to your staking dashboard. Click on “Withdraw” to initiate the unstaking process and follow the on-screen instructions. After unstaking your tokens, use the direct CNT-AGIX to CNT-FET migration tool to convert them to CNT-FET.
Important Note: Only CNT-FET (ASI) tokens held in non-custodial wallets or contributed to liquidity pools are eligible for voting during the CUDOS governance event. Explore the ASI Alliance’s CUDOS Governance Proposal to learn more about the voting process.
We have established a dedicated support system to ensure a smooth experience for all token holders. If you experience any technical difficulties during this transition period, please contact our staking support team via email at staking@singularitynet.io.
When reporting an issue, we advise token holders to provide the following information to facilitate efficient troubleshooting and help our technical team diagnose and resolve any problems:
We are actively working on the specifications for new staking pools that will support both ERC-20 FET (ASI) on Ethereum and CNT-FET (ASI) on Cardano. The new staking program offers enhanced utility, reputation scoring, and a revised rewards system.
The technical details of these new staking pools, including their architecture, smart contract implementations, and integration with our existing blockchain infrastructure, will soon finalize. A separate announcement will detail these aspects, along with the launch timeline.
SingularityNET was founded by Dr. Ben Goertzel with the mission of creating a decentralized, democratic, inclusive, and beneficial Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). An AGI is not dependent on any central entity, is open to anyone, and is not restricted to the narrow goals of a single corporation or even a single country. The SingularityNET team includes seasoned engineers, scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs, and marketers. Our core platform and AI teams are further complemented by specialized teams devoted to application areas such as finance, robotics, biomedical AI, media, arts, and entertainment.
